The art of digital scrapbooking has been developing in the USA and Australia almost since Photoshop was invented, but only recently have we started to learn the required skills in the UK.
There are numerous advantages: not least that the final product is less boring than the conventional paper scrapbook - and who remembers to always include the names and dates - but also much more enduring.
Using this medium precious memories can be stored on portable drives and also uploaded to remote sites for peace of mind. Long-term these personal and family memoirs can be transferred to new technologies and kept safe for future generations.
Not only are digital scrapbook more expressive than traditional scrapbooks, but many practitioners use diary or journaling techniques to record personal and family events and milestones, even aspects of their day-to-day lives, thus providing wonderful material for future historians.
